The parlor/living room

The elegant double-door entrance of the house welcomes you through a tin-ceiling vestibule with embossed decorative walls. As you enter the foyer, you are greeted with a wooden staircase leading to the third floor and double doors lead into the formal parlor/living room.

Try the window seats in the south-facing bay window of the parlor, which allow the daylight to flood into this beautiful salon-style parlor. Enjoy the sunset looking down 45th street, where you can view the river. The rooms on this floor feature architectural interior details such as a marble fireplace mantel, crown moldings, ceiling rosettes, arched entryways, and picture moldings. There are also benches on either side of the mantel with built-in speakers and a subwoofer controlled by the entertainment center in the kitchen.

Through the arched entryway of the parlor is the formal dining room. The square-shaped room includes built-in cabinets with 2 doors below and exposed glass shelves that are lit from above by recessed halogen lights. The kitchen

In the enormous working kitchen, traditional details meet ultra modern chic.

The room features theater-style tracklighting and recessed halogen lamps that illuminate slate gray tile and stainless steel counters. This kitchen makes a wonderful entertaining room. The kitchen raised on a platform and is punctuated by a stainless steel bar with 4 stools that separate the space between the pocket doors and working kitchen area. The focal point of the room is a working cast iron wood burning fireplace that draws guests into the social area around the bar. To the left of the fireplace is a built-in cabinet that holds an entertainment center (CD, casette player, phonograph, tuner, television) with which drives built-in remote speakers throughout the house and garden.

The cooking area features a very large commercial-grade Traulsen refrigerator/freezer, oven, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen sink overlooks the deck and garden and includes a "Steaming hot" water faucet which produces boiling water on demand. There is ample space in the cabinets and shelves throughout this unique room.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a full bath (with shower) and unique stainless steel sink/toilet. The two doors on the raised platform at the back of the kitchen lead to the 20' x 16' deck with a retractable awning to protect from the sun and a spiral staircase leading to the lower patio/garden.
