Duane Keiser's is trying to do an oil painting a day and documenting it on his weblog. Excellent.

I m more of a fan of Jeremiah Palecek's Painting Every Day blog. But hey, it's just a matter of taste really.

Yeah, that's cool. Duane seemed to be first to start blogging a painting a day, though, so his got logged here.

First I found Julian Merrow-Smith blog and he stated Duane Keiser to be his inspiration. So I have the links from my web to both artist and the few words of giving them homage.
Since I am under the pressure to do paintings for few galleries, my idea is one painting a week (15"x12"), one whole day of painting.
Looking at my URL, it's obvious I am doing mostly New York City, the subject which makes 75% of my work.

I have found out this movement several months ago, and since then I have been inspired to publish for blog "Hypnosis" Everyday Paintings on a regular basis. it's made such a huge influence in my life. It is healthy!
I don't “complete” a painting a day, but I DO paint every day.

It is incredible to me that all of the sudden this is getting a famous thing apparently started by someone else, when I know artists that have being doing daily paintings and posting them on their blogs and sites for way longer and they never got the recognizion for it nor mentioned.
Artists like Manuela Valenti http://mvstudio.blogspot.com, Rita Monaco just 2 name 2 of the ones I admire the most and many more have being painting daily for years and now everyone goes with the daily painting scheme when this has being the life of many artists for years.
Funny how things work.

Not to toot my own horn...but Ive started a similar project to these painting a day sites...althought mine is a little more ambitious. Im creating one million doodles and trying to sell each one for a dollar... www.onemilliondoodles.blogspot.com

I read an article about Duane and jumped on the bandwagon. For years my days got lost in the 9 to 5 shuffle but now I can say I have an art career...with a future. It feels great to produce this much art.
Very fulfilling!
