Just a couple of things I plan to do.
Professional
- Redo portfolio
- Launch the blog projects that I have been developing and which are waiting in the wings
- Write eBook
- A few others that I'm still thinking about
Personal
- Play more
- Ride 1 century a month from May - September
- Get back to taking photos again
- Get back to drawing and painting again
How to "Make it so"
(You'll forgive me for the Picardisms.) These are the yearly goals I can tell you about. So what to do to make these happen? Let's look at the professional list:
- Write out quarterly goals for each
- Write out monthly goals for each, starting with now and filed by project into a folder (electronic or paper)
- Use GTD to write out Actions for each project and file in an Action tickle folder, and file away the next actions contingent on the first actions
- On a daily basis, work on Actions and check tickle folder several times a day, and moving up next actions into tickle folder. Check progress at day's end and plan next day. Repeat.
That's the plan. So let's get it started.

I admire your to do list. Writing more has been on my list for a long time, and I've also considered an e-book though I haven't quite nailed down a suitable topic. I haven't made a to do list myself, but I certainly have enough on my plate right now to keep me going at least for the next few months.
I'm wondering if you've tried OmniFocus for your GTD system yet. I was skeptical about using such a hefty app for a relatively simple system, but I've been able to adapt it to my needs (so far). Both me and my wife use it. Just after a month, I'm enjoying my organizational bliss and can't imagine my life without it. It's nice to work and play with a clear head, knowing what you need to do next.
Happy New Year!

Hey, Joshua. Thanks! I was using OmniFocus during the Alpha for a few months. I keep trying every new electronic method for doing GTD. I'm impressed by OmniFocus and Things.
Like you said, the goal is just to know what you need to do next. I clear my head by writing everything down and organizing it all in Google Notebook. I've got a really nice system there where I move notes back and forth between notebook sections. I keep Actions on index cards and my HPDA (that's what I call my tickle folder).
Happy New Year to you too! Let me know (by email) if you start working on your ebook. I've got an outline started for one, but need more hours in the day to work on it.

After trying OmniFocus for a few weeks, I took a peek at Things after they sent me an invite code. I had great expectations based on all their talk about simplicity but the truth is that it was a little too simple. OmniFocus does much more than I need, but of its features that I do need and use, it does them very well. I also prefer the clearer separation of Contexts and Projects in OF. I may try Things again when it hits 1.0, but its current version wasn't enough for me to switch.

You are a fine fellow that plan that is necessary to be done. Successes are in achievement of aims.
