Have you given Sage a try? This may drive me to learn more css than anything else so far. My main complaints about Sage are that it doesn't seem to track read/unread status for feed items, and I prefer a more linear listing of the items.
I've been using Straw, a linux/gnome RSS reader, which has been doing the job nicely.
If you get some time to play with Sage, I'd be interested to see what you think of it.
PS I have been reading your very pretty and interesting blog via RSS, or at least getting notification of new stories, as you're not currently pushing any content thru the feed.

Sage looks serviceable enough for a browser extension. I use NetNewswire on my Mac for my regular newswatching, but import my OPML file to Firefox on my PC for occassional feed checking.
Sage looks like a more stable version of the Firebird RSS Reader Panel (RRP). Neither do much more than fetch and display feeds. I only installed Sage yesterday. The display of read/unread feed items seems enough to me. On the PC I've used Sharp Reader, which does a good job of showing an aggregated list of new items, threading, etc. But any stand alone client should have more features. I sort of want a browser extension to be fairly minimal. I'm sure a few more features will be added to Sage in the future. This is a first release.

What do you mean "you're not currently pushing any content thru the feed"?

What I mean is that I only see story titles in your RSS feed and have to visit the site to read the content.
Or at least it seemed that way to me the other day when I posted that comment. The RSS feed looks complete now.
